The award winners were warmly welcomed and felicitated at the college in a special ceremony hosted by the Principal and faculty.

Dr. Payal Nanda (Vice Principal), Dr. Samriti Kapoor, Mrs. Natasha Mahajan, Ms. Manpreet Kaur, and Ms. Shagun were also present on this special occasion to extend their best wishes and appreciation to the dedicated volunteers.

The session was conducted by Mrs. Monica Chhabra, Assistant Professor in Commerce. The objective of the programme was to equip faculty members with the knowledge and tools needed to inspire entrepreneurial thinking among students—encouraging a shift from a placement-centric approach to one that embraces innovation and self-driven ventures.

Mrs. Chhabra elaborated on key startup concepts such as the customer development model, business model canvas, value proposition, and identifying unmet customer needs. These were explained through practical and relatable examples, making the session engaging and insightful.

Faculty members actively participated in the discussion and found the programme particularly helpful in aligning teaching strategies towards nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among students.

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar organized the Personal Contact Programme (PCP) successfully for the first year students of B.Com, B.Com (FS), BBA, BSc (Eco.) BCA of session 2025-26. This two day programme was conducted   from July 30 to July 31, 2025. The programme is the regular project undertaken annually for the new entrants.  The panel of two experts interacts with each student with the purpose of understanding each student individually, her learning needs, future professional aspirations and family background. The rapport established helps in ensuring personalized support and guidance to the students whenever needed.

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, in collaboration with the Punjab State AIDS Control Society (PSACS), successfully organized a seminar on HIV/AIDS awareness on July 29, 2025.

The seminar featured Ms. Tina, ICTC Counselor, and Mr. Gagandeep Singh, Project Manager from PSACS, as the resource persons. They conducted informative sessions focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, treatment options, and the importance of reducing stigma around the disease.

A key focus of the seminar was the HIV/AIDS (Prevention & Control) Act, 2017, which legally safeguards the rights of individuals affected by HIV/AIDS and prohibits discrimination in healthcare and related services. The speakers also emphasized the role of youth in fostering a stigma-free society and highlighted the support systems available for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Over 60 students participated in the session and gained valuable insights into the medical, social, and legal dimensions of HIV/AIDS.

 Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal of the College, said, “Such talks are important to raise awareness among young people and to encourage an informed, compassionate approach to health and social issues.”

Mrs. Ashmeet Kaur, Faculty, Department of Computer Science and the seminar coordinator, added, “Students found the session highly informative and engaging. It helped clear several misconceptions and deepened their understanding of the topic.

A Short Course in Business Ethics under IKS was planned and executed for final-year Commerce students of the College under the leadership of Principal Dr Navdeep Kaur. The course included a curriculum focusing on business ethical practices that different religions teach. Students gained insights into the relevance of these practices in today’s business and entrepreneurship scenario. The main focus of this course was to enable students to understand the ‘why’ and ‘how’ these practices can be observed. The course also delved into the Indian knowledge system, highlighting its significance in the present day. By discussing ways to facilitate the Indian knowledge system, students were encouraged to think critically about how to integrate traditional practices with modern technology for facilitating cultural heritage and understanding the world at large. 51 students participated in the course.At the end, students’ comprehension was assessed. Certificates were awarded to candidates who successfully qualified in the written examination Through this program, students developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of ethics in business in context to cultural and spiritual values.

SSSS College of Commerce for Women welcomed First-Year Students with a Vision for Excellence on 25th July, 2025. The welcome address was led by Director Sr. Jagdish Singh ji and Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur, who extended their heartfelt greetings to the new batch and introduced them to the values and vision of the college.

In his address, Sr. Jagdish Singh ji highlighted the historic and cultural significance of SSSS College of Commerce, which stands as a landmark in Amritsar.

A notable moment during the event was the official release of the second edition of the interdisciplinary publication “Khoj Samvaad: The Evolution of Women Leadership.”  The event was conducted by Ms. Savi Sharma and Ms. Saranpreet Kaur.

In a proud and promising event the SSSS College of commerce for Women inaugurated its first book shop on 25th July, 2025.

The NSS  unit of SSSS  College  of  Commerce  for  women  Amritsar  Celebrated International  Yoga Day. This year the theme of International  Yoga Day is ‘Yoga For one earth one Health’-Stresses  harmony between humans,the environment  and overall wellness.This year the celebration  emphasizes  yoga ‘s unifying  role in balancing  personal  health with planetary health. Yoga Day highlights how yoga not only enhances personal health but also Contributes to Social well-being. The main purpose to celebrate International Yoga Day is to promote the psychological, Spiritual and Physical Benefits of yoga among Students.  The Students did Various Asaans under the Instructions of Yoga Instructor of the College. It helps the Students to understand how to maintain harmony between body and  Mind.

Placement Cell of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar organized ‘Campus Placement Drive’ in collaboration with the AOSC technologies, Amritsar on June 5, 2025.

Under the able guidance of Director S. Jagdish Singh Ji and Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur. Company issued offer letters to the selected students and the internship letters to all the students participated in the interview. AOSC Technologies representatives expressed their willingness to further associate with the college for future placements, highlighting a successful collaboration.

Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur expressed their gratitude to the members of the recruitment team for the successful conduct of this campus drive and quoted the relevance of such programmes for boosting the confidence of students and preparing the students for professional life.

She congratulated the shortlisted students, and appreciated the efforts of the placement cell and coordinators Dr.Samriti Kapoor and Ms. Kawaljit Kaur for the successful accomplishment of this event.

On June 3, 2025, SSSS College of Commerce for Women hosted a virtual session for final-year students of all streams on “Tips to Crack Interviews.” Resource persons were Mrs. Rakhi Oberoi, HR Manager from Shakti Power Solutions Private Ltd. and Ms. Kirti, Social Media Manager and Content Writer from ShaktiTech. Students learned about the information, skill set, personality development, industry expectations, and professional attire for placements during the program. An outline of the placement procedure was given to the students. Additionally, resource people offered helpful advice on group discussions, interview techniques, and resume building. Concerns and questions from students about placements were also effectively addressed.
