On April 7, 2026, SSSS College of Commerce for Women successfully hosted the National Financial Literacy Quiz (NFLQ) 2026, organized by the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM). Over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate commerce students from various semesters participated in the online event. E-certificates were distributed to all participants, recognizing their involvement in the quiz. The college round was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Samriti Kapoor, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all participants.

Mathematical Carnival at Khalsa College

Mathematical Carnival was organized by Khalsa College, Amritsar in which 10 students from our college participated. Our students performed remarkably well and secured several positions. Arpita from B.Com Sem-II won second prize in Declamation. Jyoti Yadav and Anshika from BCA Sem- VI won second prize in Poster Presenattion. Parul Tuli and Anshika from BCA Sem-VI won consolation prize in Rangoli competition.

One Day Cleanliness and Tree Plantation Camp

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, organized ‘One Day Cleaniness and Tree Plantation Camp’ on March 28, 2026. Students of NSS Unit, Rotaract Club, Eco Club and Red Ribbon Club of the college actively participated as a team and engaged in various community based social activities like cleanliness, tree plantation and e-waste disposal initiatives. The program aimed to encourage students to contribute towards sustainability while promoting their physical and mental well-being through yoga and interactive dialogue sessions.

On this occasion Rtn. Rakesh Kapoor, Club Chairman and Chief Dist. Coordinator and Rtn Amandeep Luthra, Club Secretary and Zonal Governor from Rotary Club Amritsar Central presented ‘Green Campus Award 2025-26’ to the College. Additionally, Final year B.Com students, who successfully completed the ‘Mutual Fund Training and NISM Certification’ program organised by FinX Institute and Rana Investments, were awarded certificates.

Director S. Jagdish Singh ji commended the students for their exceptional academic achievements and dedication to social responsibility, and also shared insights on the importance of leadership. The Principal Ms. Harpreet Kaur Uppal highlighted the importance of such activities in preparing students for both professional and social life.

Admission Fair 2026

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar organized the ‘Admission Fair’ under the guidance of Director S. Jagdish Singh ji on March 25, 2026. The resource persons Mrs. Ravneet Arora, Ms. Mamta Arora and Dr. Tina Vohra facilitated class 12th students on various degree courses in commerce and allied subjects, including CA and CS, covering eligibility requirements, admission criteria, and future career prospects. About seventy students attended the event. Principal Ms. Harpreet Kaur Uppal highlighted the college’s disciplined and supportive learning environment and various programmes that together foster holistic student development. Ms. Ruhani Nanda, BCom IV semester student of the college shared her transformative journey of completing the CA foundation course. She highlighted the balance required in preparation for the undergraduate degree course and CA Foundation. Thanking the motivational and academic support of the college faculty, she reflected on how this experience shaped her discipline, determination and made her more confident. Mrs. Priyanka Sharma and Dr. Samriti Kapoor coordinated the event successfully.

Career Guidance Session: DBEE’s Awareness Seminar on CAT Entrance Examination

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar organized a Career Guidance Session on March 18, 2026 under the initiative “Mission CAT: Bhatinda to IIMs.” Mr. Sony Goyal, an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and a 17-time 99.9+ percentile in CAT, was the resource person. He guided students on effective CAT preparation, time management, and career planning, and also highlighted the initiative “Punjab 100,” aiming to empower 100 girls from Punjab to join IIMs and become future CEOs. Mrs. Bharti Sharma, Career Counsellor, DBEE Amritsar, also graced the event and emphasized the root causes of challenges faced by Punjab’s youth, motivating girls to become inspiration for future generations through education and self-reliance.

Techi-Fizz (2026) an Intercollege Technical & Cultural Fest

Our institution proudly celebrates the outstanding performance of our students at Tech-Fizz 2026, an inter-college technical and cultural fest held at Hindu College, Amritsar, on March 14, 2026. Around 28 enthusiastic students participated in various competitions and showcased remarkable talent, creativity, and teamwork. Their dedication led to excellent results, with first positions in Group Dance, Group Singing, and Collage Making, second positions in the Ad Mad Show and Photography, and a third position in the IT Quiz. They highlighted the importance, scope, and professional benefits of pursuing the Company Secretary course, explaining how it prepares students for roles in corporate governance, compliance, and strategic management.

Mr. Divyansh Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of Elivapro AI, and Mr. Lovetesh Kumar, Senior Manager (State Head, ICT Academy), attended the seminar as the Chief Guests and shared valuable insights with the students. Mr. Bhandari explained the importance of providing a clear roadmap for building successful businesses in Punjab and discussed how Artificial Intelligence will help manage businesses in the future. He also explained the difference between startups and small businesses, highlighting innovation, scalability, speed, and impact as key features of startups. Mr. Kumar encouraged students to explore emerging opportunities in the startup ecosystem. Principal Ms. Harpreet Kaur Uppal welcomed the guests and thanked them. State Level Cultural Program under “YUDH NASHEA VIRUDH” organized by Higher Education Department of Punjab in collaboration with GNDU

Our college proudly participated in the Inter College Cultural Fest “Junoon-E-Punjab – Yudh Nashean Virudh on Feb 19 and Feb20, ” The event provided a dynamic platform for students to express their views and showcase their intellectual and oratory skills on the significant issue of drug abuse.

In the Extempore competition, Arpita Verma (B.Com 2B) secured Third Position and was awarded a cash prize of ₹2000.

In the Debate competition, Ruhani Nanda (B.Com 4B) and Arpita Verma (B.Com 2B) achieved Second Position, winning a cash prize of ₹5000.
