A talk on Right to Vote was organized on March 29, 2019 in the Rose Villa Hall of the College with the help of District Polling Officer .Mr. C.P. Sharma (Block Elementary Education Officer spoke to the students to make them aware about their voting rights and asked the first time voters to exercise this precious right wisely. Mr. Avtar Singh, Distt. SVEEP Incharge and other team members of the SVEEP demonstrated the working of EVM and VV PAT machine to the students. They also assured the voters about confidentiality and correctness with regard to the working of the machine. Thereafter, Distt. SVEEP Incharge administered the voters pledge to the students and faculty of the college. The SVEEP officers also familiarized the students with ‘Voter Helpline’- A user friendly app that can be used to enroll or make corrections in the voters list. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal, while presenting the vote of thanks highly lauded this endeavor of the election commission to educate the young voters and urged the students to develop consciousness towards their rights and duties as citizens of a democratic nation and motivated them to play their role actively as responsible voters rather than complaining about the malpractices.
