The Orientation Session for the courses offered by the Symbiosis Centre of Distance Learning (SCDL) (July 13, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar held a Special Guidance Session regarding Symbiosis Centre of Distance Learning for the pass-out students of B.Com and BBA on July 13, 2024 where 50 students received information about the various courses. It is worth mentioning that Symbiosis Centre of Distance Learning has granted the approval for the establishment of Student Support Centre in the College to offer postgraduate diploma and certificate courses in the fields of Commerce, Management and Computers etc. Director of SSSS Institutions, S. Jagdish Singh, while congratulating the students and the faculty, said that it is the only institution of Symbiosis Centre of Distance Learning in this region. Under the able guidance of College President Justice (Retired) Ranjit Singh Randhawa and Additional Director Dr. Manmohan Singh, the College is committed towards delivering quality education and infrastructure in the field of Commerce, Management and Technology. College Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur informed that Coordinator of the Centre, Dr. Payal Vice Principal, will provide comprehensive information on admissions and course aspects to interested students. College students who have completed B.Com, B.Com (FS), BBA, BSc Economics and M.Com and are doing part time jobs or working professionals who are unable to pursue regular degree courses will find this facility beneficial for their future and career prospects.

Morning Assembly (July 29, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women Holds Inaugural Morning Assembly for 2024-25 Session on July 29, 2024, SSSS College of Commerce for Women held its first morning assembly for the 2024-25 session in the Rose Villa Hall. The assembly commenced with the recitation of the Mool Mantra and the College Anthem, followed by an Ardas to seek divine blessings.

Jagdish Singh Ji, the Honorary Secretary, addressed the students, sharing the rich history of the college and encouraging them to strive for excellence, following in the footsteps of their predecessors. 

Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal, warmly welcomed the students to the new academic year. She introduced various upcoming activities, programs, and workshops, highlighting the importance of discipline. Dr. Kaur urged students to embrace their responsibilities with dedication, contributing to their personal growth and the advancement of the college, community, and society at large.

Personal Contact cum Orientation Program (July 29 and July 30, 2024)

Our Personal Contact Programme on July 29-30, 2024, was designed to connect first-year students with mentors, focusing on understanding individual learning needs and aspirations. This initiative aimed not only to guide but also to foster a strong sense of belongingness among our new students.

Following this, a comprehensive week-long orientation program took place from July 29 to August 2, 2024. The orientation introduced students to their program objectives and course outcomes, providing a clear roadmap for their academic journey.

At SSSS College of Commerce for Women, we are dedicated to getting to know our new students better, gaining insights to align our programs with their career goals and aspirations. Above all, we aim to initiate and build connections between teachers and students, creating an impactful teaching and learning environment from the very beginning of their journey with us.

Morning Assembly (July 31, 2024)

The 1st morning assembly for BCA Sem1, BCOM (FS) Sem 1 and BSc (Economics) Sem 1 was held on July 31, 2024 in the Rose villa Hall. The assembly began with the recitation of Mool Mantra and College Anthem followed by Ardas. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal welcomed the students to the new session. The Principal also encouraged the students to do regular practice of activities of their interest in order to excel and do self-introspection for personal growth. S. Jagdish Singh, Honorary Secretary, introduced the students to the rich culture of SSSS and historical background behind the inception of the college. He also encouraged the students to concentrate on one thing at a time. The assembly concluded with the encouragement to the students to explore, innovate and achieve success.

Mother’s Meet (August 3, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar  hosted a ‘Mother’s Meet’ on August 3, 2024.  The mothers of first-year students enrolled in various programs, including B.Com, B.Com (FS), BBA, B.Sc. (Eco), and BCA attended the program. This orientation program aimed at apprising mothers about college’s core principles and values and facilities, while also fostering a sense of collaboration and cooperation between parents and teachers in shaping students’ future in general and their educational journey. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, the Principal, eloquently presented SSSS institution’s 131 years legacy and commitment to excellence, and college’s academic vision to the parents. Talking about the purpose of the education she suggested mothers to be patient listeners, have the faith on the children and eliminate the element of the fear as these would facilitate the child to share and shoulder the responsibilities of the life. 

She further thanked the mothers for their supportive and nurturing approach, as these can help children develop their confidence and life skills including the professional ones.   

Dr. Payal, Vice-principal, shared the schedule of academic and other curricular activities, and examination system to ensure a well-rounded education and engaging experience for students.

During the meeting, parents actively engaged in discussions on various aspects of their children’s holistic development, and subject instructors addressed their queries comprehensively. Approximately 106 parents attended this event and expressed their gratitude for the college’s initiative in creating a supportive environment for students to thrive. Mrs. Ravneet Kaur presented the vote of thanks. 

To conclude the gathering, a tea service was provided to all attendees. The coordinators Ms. Mamta Arora and Ms. Sirjan Arneja coordinated the program successfully. 

Seminar on “Idea to IPO” (August 03, 2024) 

Students of SSSS College of Commerce for Women had the opportunity to attend a seminar on “Idea to IPO” by Suresh Mansharmani, hosted by Amritsar Founder at S.G. Thakur Singh Art Gallery, Amritsar on August 3, 2024. Mr. Suresh Mansharmani, a Presidential awardee and winner of the Best Sales Trainer award, shared his extensive experience in sales training and business development. Students from M.Com-III and B.Com-V attended the seminar, which aimed to educate and inspire young entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts.

The Book Bank Fair (Project Saugat) (August 9 and August 10, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar successfully hosted a two-day “Book Bank Fair” under Project Saugaat on August 9th and 10th, 2024. The event was a platform for students to exchange books, donate to the library, and purchase new books at discounted rates. 

The fair was inaugurated by Honorary Secretary, S. Jagdish Singh, who inspired students to overcome challenges with a positive outlook, drawing inspiration from the spiritual tale of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Bhai Mardana. Principal, Dr. Navdeep Kaur emphasized the event’s annual significance and the students’ eagerness for its return.

The fair showcased a diverse collection of books spanning commerce, economics, management, computer science, literature, religion, spirituality, and competitive exams. Approximately 350 books found new homes among enthusiastic readers. The event witnessed active participation from 600 students and staff members, including those from SSSS College of Commerce and Allied Studies and SSSS College of Arts for Women. A special book counter set up by Ravi Publications from New Delhi, allowed students to purchase books of their choice, adding another dimension to the event.

To appreciate exceptional contributions, Chanchal from B.Com III was honored as the “Donor of the Day” for gifting 70 books.

The meticulous organization by Mrs. Simranjeet Kaur (Librarian) and Mrs. Monica Chhabra (Assistant Professor in Commerce) contributed greatly to its success.

Project Saugaat not only fueled a passion for reading but also cultivated a sense of community and responsibility among the students. By facilitating book sharing and donation, the event enriched the college’s intellectual environment and left a lasting impression.

Saavan Mela (August 10, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women Amritsar observed ‘The Saavan Mela’- a celebration of the auspicious Monsoon season, with immense enthusiasm and fervor on August 10, 2024. Embracing the theme of harmony and nature, students and faculty members dressed themselves in traditional attire in shades of green, creating a festive atmosphere. On this occasion students relished homemade eatables and those available at stalls offering local delicacies. As traditional Punjabi music filled the air, students thrilled and performed folk dance gidha, infusing the entire campus with happiness. The Director S. Jagdish Singh ji and Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur congratulated students and faculty members, for making the celebrations a grand event. The vibrant and joyous event brought everyone together. The students gained cultural learning experience. The coordinators Dr. Payal, Vice Principal and Mrs. Monika Chhabra coordinated the event successfully.

“Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with a Heartwarming Initiative” (August 10, 2024)

On August 10, 2024, the Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, celebrated Raksha Bandhan under the project “Ek Bandhan “. This thoughtful initiative aimed to send physical rakhis to brave Indian Army personnel as a token of love, respect, and appreciation.

By sending rakhis to soldiers, the club strengthened the bond between civilians and the armed forces, providing a tangible reminder of the support they receive from home. During the celebration, college students were encouraged to bring rakhis for the soldiers, accompanied by handwritten notes of encouragement.

This meaningful gesture fosters a sense of connection, boosts morale, and demonstrates the community’s commitment to those who serve in challenging conditions. The Rotaract Club’s initiative embodies the true spirit of Raksha Bandhan, celebrating the selfless service of Indian Army personnel.

Intra College Debate and Declamation Contest (Independence Day under the theme “Voice of Young India: Celebrating Independence and Empowerment.”) (August 14, 2024)

The Spark and Speaker’s Committee of S.S.S.S. College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, organized a debate and declamation contest on August 14, 2024, to celebrate Independence Day under the theme “Voice of Young India: Celebrating Independence and Empowerment.” This theme allowed students to reflect on and articulate their views on the journey of women in Independent India over the past 77 years.

A total of 17 students from various courses participated, showcasing their oratory skills on topics related to patriotism. The event was judged by Dr. Payal (Vice Principal), Dr. Samriti Kapoor (Assistant Professor of Commerce), and Dr. Tina Vohra (Assistant Professor of Commerce). Director S. Jagdish Singh Ji shared his personal experiences from the Independence era, while Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur addressed the students, offering valuable public speaking tips and motivating them to develop this essential skill.

In the declamation contest, Ruhani Nanda (B.Com – 1) secured the first position, followed by Tanvi (B.Sc – 3) and Ridhima (BCA – 1) who won the second prize, and Prachi (BCA – 5) who earned the third position. Gurleen Kaur (BBA – 3) received a consolation prize. In the debate segment, Manvi and Ritika (B.Com – 5) took the first prize, while Jaspreet Kaur and Bhoomika (B.Com – 1) achieved the second position.

Ms. Deepika Khanna, the coordinator of the event, congratulated all winners for their thought-provoking contributions.

Session on “Skills and Careers in Banking and Allied Sectors” (August 16, 2024)

On August 16, 2024, a session on “Skills and Careers in Banking and Allied Sectors” was organized in the Rose Villa Hall of the College for final-year students of the Commerce and Economics stream. Mr. Gurpreet Singh and Mr. Vipan Kapoor, Co-founders of, the Institute of Banking Skills and Careers highlighted the skill gap in the banking industry. Using Audio-Visual aids, they apprised the students about the skill set required in the banking industry. The resource persons also informed the students about courses offered by IBSC, its selection process, internships, duration, certification, etc. which would help the students to become working professionals in the banking industry. They clarified the students’ doubts regarding career paths. The session was coordinated by Dr. Samriti Kapoor and Ms. Twinkle Mahajan.

Seminar on Career in Chartered Accountancy (August 21, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women Amritsar organized a seminar on Career in Chartered Accountancy on August 21, 2024 in the College Hall Rose Villa. The resource persons CA Shilpa Gupta from ICSI, Amritsar talked in detail about the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Course, and the role, and responsibilities of CA, the procedure and process for enrolling and completing the course, the syllabus plan and the challenges during the journey of becoming CA. During the interactive session, the resource person emphasized on clarity of vision for achieving the target and managing time judiciously. Students’ queries were resolved. About 146 students of first and third semester of B.Com, and B.Com (FS) attended the session. Mrs. Ravneet Arora and Mrs. Monika Chhabra coordinated the event successfully and rated it informative for the students and faculty. Mrs. Moninder Kaur, Ms. Shagun, Ms. Kiranjit Kaur, Dr. Jaspinder Kaur and Mrs. Vijay Laxmi attended the program. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal highly appreciated the resource person and emphasized usefulness of the talk for the CA aspirants.  Ms. Bhumika Gupta student from B.Com Semester I proposed a vote of thanks.

Faculty Development Programme: Workshop on ‘Insights on Teaching-Learning Practices in the Discipline of Accounting’ (August 24, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, organized a Workshop on Teaching-Learning Practices in the Discipline of Accounting on August 24, 2024 for Commerce faculty. 

Mrs. Priyanka Sharma, HOD Dept. of Commerce, welcoming the Resource person shared that teaching is an art yet it requires skill. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal, while talking about the purpose of this faculty development program spoke that teacher must have passion for the subject and keep learning continuously.

Citing various real-life experiences, Mrs. Savita Khanna, Principal, SSSS College of Commerce and Allied Studies, the resource person focused on the principle of ‘learn, unlearn, and relearn’ which is an essential aspect of personal growth and development in this rapidly changing world. Considering the requirements of NEP-2020 i.e. relating theory with practical, preparing the students for future world of work, maintaining connectivity with students and following various strategies of teaching and assessment are must to ensure effective learning of learners. 

In the end, an open house discussion was held, and participants shared their learning experiences.

“Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women Enhances Knowledge on Cyber Security”(August 28, 2024)

On August 28th, 2024, the members of the Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women attended a insightful webinar on the crucial topic of “Cyber Security”. The session featured a special speaker, Mr. Hritik Mishra, Operational Director at Cyber Ambassador, Nashik, Maharashta, who shared his expertise on:

  • Understanding Cyber Threats
  • Building Strong Defences
  • Data Protection & Privacy
  • Safeguarding Against Fraud 

This informative webinar equipped the club members with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely and securely. The session was a valuable opportunity for the members to learn from an expert and stay updated on the latest cyber security trends and best practices.

Career Guidance by Wayspire (August 31, 2024)

The webinar covered a wide range of topics, including resume writing, web technology, web development, UX design, and possible careers in VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration). The motive behind this webinar was to bring improvement into the participants’ careers by imparting expertise in the above-mentioned areas. In this session, creating an attractive-looking CV was also discussed, along with highlighting achievements, experiences and abilities. The speaker advised on how to tailor a resume to a certain job. The students gained insightful knowledge about current business trends, practical skills and advice for boosting their careers. Positive feedback was received from the students.

32nd Foundation Day (September 1, 2024)

Sant Singh Sukha Singh college of Commerce for Women, Amritsar celebrated its 32nd foundation day on September 1, 2024.

As per the annual calendar of the college bhog ceremony of Sehaj path was held and the staff and students recited Gurbani with devotion and fervour. The students intoned ‘Ardas’ and recited Hukamnama.

Director S.Jagdish Singh Ji blessed the students and motivated them to work hard. Principal, Dr. Navdeep Kaur congratulated the students and faculty members for the continued success of the college. The participants of debate and declamation competition were given prizes and certificates, and volunteers of Gurmat sewa were especially honoured on this auspicious day. Principals of S.S.S.S institutions Mrs.Savita Khanna and Dr.Gurrattan Singh Ji also graced the occasion.

Teachers’ Day Celebration

Teachers’ Day Celebration at SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, 9th September – The Niralam group of S.S.S.S. College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, celebrated Teachers’ Day with a grand cultural show to express gratitude for the immense contribution of their teachers. The event, attended by around 850 students, featured a captivating array of performances, including folk, Sufi, contemporary, semi-classical, hip-hop, and choreography, leaving the audience spellbound.

The faculty members were warmly welcomed and treated to this mesmerizing showcase of talent, meticulously planned and executed by the students. As a gesture of appreciation, each teacher was presented with a lovely token of gratitude, recognizing their unwavering dedication and hard work.

Director S. Jagdish Singh Ji and Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur praised the students for their outstanding efforts in organizing such a memorable event. The presence of Mrs. Savita Khanna, Principal of Allied College of Commerce, and Principal S. Gurpreet Singh added grace to the occasion.

Vice Principal Dr. Payal acknowledged the remarkable work done by the students, while the event was coordinated by Ms Kiran Bala,Mrs. Saranpreet Kaur, Ms. Ritika, and Ms. Manpreet Kaur. Session on ‘Company Secretary as a Career’

SSSS College of Commerce for Wome organized an informative session on ‘Company Secretary as a Career’ to provide students with the insights into one of the most prestigious and challenging professions in the corporate world. The session was introduced by our esteemed Vice-Principal, Dr Payal who welcomed the guest speaker and highlighted the importance of exploring diverse career opportunities in today’s competitive landscape. The Vice Principal also emphasized the role of the college in guiding students towards fulfilling and successful professional paths. A special mention was made of our proud alumna, Ms. Manmeet Kaur, who recently passed the CS Exam this year. Her achievement was highlighted to inspire the current students showcasing how dedication, hard work and the right guidance from the college can lead to success in such a competitive field. The session was conducted by Mrs. Rani Raizada, officer in-charge, Amritsar Chapter, ICSI and Mrs. Rubina Mahajan, Company Secretary, Punjab Riceland Private Limited, Amritsar, a qualified and experienced CS who shared valuable knowledge about the role and responsibilities of a CS in the corporate governance framework. The interactive session allowed the students to ask questions and the speaker addressed their queries regarding the CS Exam process, training and the evolving role of a CS in the digital age. Students felt motivated to consider pursuing this prestigious career, which offers opportunities for growth, stability and the potential to hold key positions in the corporate world. Overall, the session introduced by our Vice-Principlal, along with the inspiring story of our alumna, was a great success, equipping students with the necessary information to make decisions about their professional paths.

Industrial Visit to AOSC Technologies (September 10, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women Amritsar organised an Industrial Visit on 10th September, 2024 to AOSC Technologies located in Ranjit Avenue Amritsar. 36 students from B.Com. Final Year went for the visit along with two faculty members.

Mr. Gaganadeep Singh Recruitment Manager of AOSC Technologies gave a presentation on “Various Trends in Business Technology” and answered the various queries of students. This Industrial Visit gave the students an insight into the upcoming trends in Business Technology like Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence and Digital Marketing.

This visit helped in bringing a positive change in their thinking towards the technical skills.

Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club (September 12, 2024)

The fourth Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar was held in the College Hall Rose Villa on September 12, 2024, marking a significant milestone in community service and youth engagement. The event was attended by esteemed guests, Rotarians who gathered to witness the formal induction of the club’s new officers and members.

The ceremony began with the singing of the National Anthem.

DRR. Rtr. Sukhpinder Kaur was the Chief Guest, Rtn. Rakesh Kapoor, Chairman Club and Chief District Coordinator 3070, Rtr. Deepanshu, Rtr. Sawan Arora, Rtr. Jaskiran Kaur, Rtn. Ravi Pathania, Rtn. Amandeep Singh President Rotary Club Amritsar Central was also present on the occasion.

Samistha Mahajan, Student of B.Com Sem III was appointed as Student President and accorded collar. Nazuk Sharma, Student of B.Com Sem V, was appointed as the Student Secretary, Rtr. Diksha, Student of BBA Sem III, was appointed as President Elect, and other office bearers received pins indicating their respective positions in the club. Certificates were presented to the previous year members of the Rotaract club.Mrs. Priyanka Sharma, Head, Dept. of Commerce and Mrs. Shalini, Lecturer in Economics was specially honoured for their contribution to education.

The Chief Guest congratulated the Rotaractors and highlighted the importance of Collaboration, Innovation and Perseverance in driving meaningful changes. The new President pledged her commitment to the values of Rotary International, set the stage for an active and impactful year ahead.

‘Tree Plantation Drive’ (September 17, 2024)

The NSS unit of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, organized a ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ on September 17, 2024, under the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.’ NSS volunteers viz Bhawna Sharma (B.com-V B), Harleen Kaur (BCA-I), Nikhar Sharma (B.com FS-V), Priyanka (B.com FS-III), Anshdeep (B.com FS-III), Shruti Mahajan (B.Com FS-III) and Vanshika (B.Com. FS-V) enthusiastically planted saplings within the college campus under the guidance of the college gardener Sh Mahadev and the co-ordinators Ms Mamta Arora and Ms Dilpreet Kaur.

Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur commended the volunteers for their active involvement in this noble initiative and encouraged them to nurture the saplings with care for their growth.

“SSSS College Faculty Attends Eco-Friendly Campus Workshop” (September 22, 2024)

On September 22, 2024, faculty members from SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, participated in a workshop focused on creating an eco-friendly campus, hosted by Shri Ram Ashram Public School. The workshop was organized by Amritsar Group of Colleges in Collaboration with Shri Ashram Public School & Hariyawal Punjab.

Dr. Tina Vohra, Ms. Mamta Arora, Ms. Kawalji Kaur, Ms. Ginnia Kakkar and Ms. Manbir Kaur attended the workshop and were awarded certificates.

NSS Day (September 24, 2024)

The NSS unit of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar celebrated NSS Day on September 24, 2024. The function started with the recitation of SSSS anthem. PowerPoint presentation indicating the importance of this day and role of College NSS unit in various social welfare activities was shown.

On the  theme  ‘Save water Save life’  a short video underlying   the importance  of water and how people are wasting  this precious  resource  was shown.

Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur appreciated and encouraged the students to participate in various events that are organised in the college.

 The program ended with the vote of thanks presented by NSS volunteer.

Seminar on Empower & Excel: Entrepreneurial Success for SC students (September 27, 2024)

Students of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar attended Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh Sponsored Seminar on ‘Empower & Excel: Entrepreneurial Success for SC students organized by DAV College Amritsar on September 27, 2024. Ms. Harpreet Kaur Uppal, Assistant Professor in Economics accompanied 12 SC students, from various under graduate courses.

During the interactive session, speakers talked about the start-ups and incubator services that SC students can avail to empower their skills and to pursue their entrepreneurial ventures.

Rotary Club of Amritsar Central’s Water Management Project (September 28, 2024)

The Rotary Club of Amritsar Central under its Water Management Project donated a Water Tank to SSSS College of Commerce for Women on September 28, 2024.

Members from the Rotary Club of Amritsar Central including Rtn. Rakesh Kapoor, Rtn. Pawan Kapoor, Rtn. Parveen Mehra, and Rtn. Ravmeet Aneja joined for the event. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal, SSSS College of Commerce for Women, along with members of the Rotaract Club and staff, were also present on the occasion.

Visit to ‘District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises’ Amritsar (October 9, 2024)

The Placement Cell of the College organized a visit to the office of District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, Amritsar on October 9, 2024. Mr. Tirathpal Singh (Deputy CEO, DBEE Amritsar), Mr. Bhavesh Mahajan (Chartered Accountant), Mr. Avon Kumar Vaid (Principal, Amritsar Law College) and Mrs. Shivani Arora (Asst. Professor, Amritsar Law College) interacted with the students and apprised them about various career opportunities in the field of chartered accountancy, law and government sector. Mr. Gaurav Kumar (Career Counsellor, DBEE) shared information about the facilities offered by DBEE such as free coaching for competitive examination and psychometric testing. Members from faculty Dr. Payal Nanda and Ms Manpreet Kaur accompanied a group of 30 students from the final semester of B.Com Financial Services and M.Com. Students found the visit an enriching experience and thanked the college authorities for organizing such activities.

Holistic Empowerment: Navigating Myths and Fostering Confidence Amongst Young Women (October 10, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, hosted an impactful session titled ‘Be your Own Boss ‘ on October 10, 2024. Renowned Youth Wellbeing Expert and Counseling Psychologist, Ms. Amardeep Kaur from Procter and Gamble, inspired students to prioritize their personal and professional empowerment. The expert talk focused on debunking menstruation myths and taboos, cultivating confidence through good posture and positive body language, dressing for success, adopting essential safety measures, and developing professional networks.

Ms. Amardeep Kaur emphasized self-awareness and self-care as pillars of holistic wellbeing, highlighting the importance of making informed choices, nurturing a positive mindset, and overcoming societal pressures. The session, attended by 237 students, was highly informative and encouraging. Dr. Samriti Kapoor and Dr. Tina Vohra, Assistant Professors in Commerce, coordinated the event.

An Industrial Visit to Wave Beverages in Jandiala Guru (October 16, 2024)

On 16 October 2024, an enriching industrial visit to ‘𝑾𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒔’ at Jandiala Guru marked a day of practical learning for 50 students of BCA Semester Vand B.Sc. Semester V of SSSS College of Commerce for Women. Led by industry experts S. Sukhbir Singh and Mr. Inderbir Manchanda, students gained firsthand insights into the cutting-edge beverage manufacturing processes of iconic brands like Coca Cola, Thumbs Up, and Sprite.

The comprehensive tour covered state-of-the-art facilities including the water treatment plant, processing units, and automated filling stations. Students witnessed the perfect blend of technology and quality control that goes into each bottle, while learning about crucial aspects of industrial operations, hygiene protocols, and safety standards.

Our future professionals engaged in an interactive session with the company’s leadership, expanding their understanding of real-world industrial applications. Faculty members Mrs. Ravneet Arora and Ms. Shagun guided the students throughout the immersive industrial experience.

Inter-College Business Quiz (October 24, 2024)

Amritsar, October 24, 2024: SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, successfully organized its first-ever Inter-College Business Quiz today. The event saw enthusiastic participation from various institutions across the region.

After a rigorous preliminary round, four teams advanced to the final quiz. The competition stood out for its engaging format, featuring a series of diverse rounds that incorporated audio-visual aids, making it an interactive experience not only for the participants but also for the audience.

In a thrilling conclusion, the host team from SSSS College of Commerce for Women emerged as the overall winners. SSSS College of Commerce and Allied Studies secured the runners-up position, while Guru Angad Dev College, Khadur Sahib, claimed the third prize. Teams from Khalsa College of Law Amritsar, Hindu College Amritsar, and SSSS College of Arts for Women also competed with great zeal.

Jagdish Singh, Director conveyed congratulatory message to the winning teams and appreciated the efforts of the staff to make the event a huge success.The winners were awarded trophies. Dr Navdeep Kaur, Principal stated that the aim of the quiz was to encourage commerce students to enhance their knowledge and foster a sense of community among the commerce faculty and students of the city.

Dr. Payal and Mrs. Priyanka Sharma coordinated the event successfully, and Mrs. Savita Khanna, Principal of SSSS College of Arts for Women, graced the occasion with her presence.

Cleanliness Drive (October 26, 2024)

The NSS unit of the SSSS  College  of  Commerce  for women  organised  cleanliness  drive  on October 26,2024 in the College  campus. Around 60 NSS volunteers from various Departments of the College participated in the event.

 The main purpose of this drive was to create awareness among students regarding cleanliness and its benefits.  With zest and zeal,the enthusiastic students  steered  the clean-up drive to success. During  this drive students rearrange the books in  library racks, painted various  flower pots in College  campus, cleaned yoga Bhawan and Gurmat Bhawan.Photographs of the students doing cleaning, painting  were also clicked  to motivate them. Light refreshment was also served to the volunteers.

Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ramdass Ji (October 29, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar celebrated the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ramdass Ji with religious enthusiasm on October 29, 2024.  Students recited hymns from Gurbani, infusing the surroundings with divine melodies followed by the recitation of Ardas and Hukamnama. Reflecting on the life, legacy and teachings of Sikh Gurus, Director Jagdish Singh Ji encouraged the Sangat to adopt the qualities of selflessness, dedication and humility.  He encouraged students to strive for excellence in their endeavors. Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur in her address inspired the students to embrace the values of diligent efforts while following the noble path shown by Guru Sahibs.  She expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event and congratulated participants.

Students presented the life of fourth Guru Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji, the founder of Sri Amritsar; and tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in the form of poem and kavishri. On this occasion, those who participated in Shabad Kirtan, Ardas and Hukmana recitation were also honoured.  Students and staff selflessly participated in ‘Langar Seva,’ showcasing their commitment to community service.

KCA- Mathematics Carnival 2024 (October 29, 2024)

Students of SSSS College of Commerce participated in different events of Mathematics Carnival 2024, organized by P.G. Department of Mathematics of Khalsa College, Amritsar. 3 students participated in declamation contest. 14 students in Rangoli Competition and 2 students participated in PPT Presentation contest. Aishpreet and Pragya of B.Sc.(Econoimics) Sem-V bagged first prize in PPT Presentation. Ridhima Khurana of BCA Sem-I won consolation prize in declamation. Anshika and Parul Tuli of BCA Sem-III won consolation prize in Rangoli Competition. The students cherished the time to the fullest through the activities. Diwali Carnival (October 30, 2024)

The Student Council organized an open dance program to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights on October 30, 2024. Students danced to a mix of traditional and Bollywood music, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the event. The atmosphere was lively as participants enjoyed themselves and embraced the festive spirit. It was a joyful gathering that strengthened the bonds among students.

Celebrated Bibi Raj Devi Diwas devoted to Punjabi language (10 November, 2024)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar celebrated Bibi Rajdevi Diwas devoted to Punjabi language with great enthusiasm on 10 November, 2024 dedicating the day to the life and legacy of Bibi Rajdevi Ji, wife of S.Sant Singh Ji, who made a significant contribution to girls’ education. The celebration commenced with a poignant poetry recitation by students, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings. Students of Niralam group took the stage to present a poetical description of Bibi Rajdevi’s life and work, bringing to light her enduring influence on the empowerment of girls through education. The recitations beautifully captured her dedication and vision, while the folk songs added a traditional touch, resonating with the cultural heritage of Punjab. On this occasion, students presented the report related to the project conducted to mark Punjabi Diwas. The purpose of the project was to acquaint the students about the Punjabi writers and literates of Amritsar city. Director S. Jagdish Singh Ji acknowledged the remarkable influence of Bibi Rajdevi Ji and emphasized the cultural and historical significance of Punjabi language. Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur encouraged students to carry forward the legacy of education and social change. Mrs. Savita Khanna, Principal of allied College also graced the occasion with her presence. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to students who had excelled in calligraphy competition and exquisite handwriting contest. The celebrations of Bibi Rajdevi Diwas was a testament to the spirit of community, culture, and the unwavering commitment to education.

National Integration Day (November 26, 2024)

The Junior College marked National Integration Day on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, with a vibrant cultural program celebrating India’s diversity and unity. Folk dances showcased the richness of our cultural heritage, while a short play highlighted how unity among diverse communities during the freedom struggle was instrumental in driving out British rule.

Director S. Jagdish Singh and Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur awarded prizes to the winners of the essay writing and poster-making competitions.

The event was a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, leaving students inspired by the importance of integration in fostering national growth and harmony.

Goshti (December 02, 2024)

Goshti session was held on December 2, 2024 at 1:30 PM in Lafani. Ms. Natasha Mahajan reviewed the book “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Dr. Norman Vincent. The book provides practical techniques to replace negativity with constructive thoughts, harnessing inner peace and success. It inspires reader to cultivate confidence and embrace life’s possibilities with a positive attitude.

 Ms. Ramandeep Kaur reviewed the book “Our Story Needs No Filter “by Sudeep Nagarkar. It is a gripping tale of love, friendship and campus politics. Amidst heated debates and protests, the protagonists discover the power of truth and resilience. It beautifully highlights the importance of unity, communication and standing up for what is right.

Session conducted was an enriching experience, fostering intellectual dialogue among faculty members and Revered Principal mam.

It was indeed inspiring to witness diverse viewpoints and learning   from each other.

One Month Yoga Session for Faculty Members (November 14, 2024 to December 14 December, 2024)

A one month ‘Yoga Session’ for faculty members was successfully conducted at SSSS College of Commerce for Women from November 14, 2024 to December 14, 2024. The initiative aimed to promote holistic well-being, reduce stress and encourage a healthy lifestyle among the teaching staff. The sessions were held daily in the Yoga Hall from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Faculty members from various departments actively participated in the programme. Each session focused on:

  • Breathing exercises for relaxation and stress management.
  • Yoga postures to improve flexibility and strength.
  • Techniques for enhancing+ focus and mindfulness.

The initiative received an enthusiastic response from the participants, who expressed their gratitude for providing a platform to focus on their physical and mental health. Many participants shared positive feedback, highlighting the significant improvement in their overall well-being. This one-month programme reflects the college’s dedication and commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for its faculty members, ensuring they are equipped to lead balanced and stress-free lives.

Mahindra Pride Classroom: Building Employability Skills (December 16 to December 23, 2024)

From December 16-23, 2024, SSSS College, in collaboration with the Naandi Foundation, organized the Mahindra Pride Classroom for final-year B.Com students. The 36-hour course, led by soft skills expert Ms. Suhani, focused on self-awareness, professional grooming, goal setting, time management, and critical thinking. Students participated in practical exercises, reinforcing their learning and preparing them for professional challenges. Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur urged students to apply these skills consistently to achieve personal and professional success. Coordinators: Mrs. Ravneet Arora and Ms. Ritika.

A Guidance Seminar on Software Development (December 17, 2024)

A guidance seminar was conducted for the students of BCA VI semester to provide them with essential insights and direction for successfully undertaking their final year projects on the software development module. The resource person, Mr. Sandeep Sood, System Manager (IT) at GNDU, shared his expertise and practical knowledge with the students.

  4. Documentation and Report Writing
  5. Presentation Skills, etc.

The seminar, organized by Mrs. Isha Arora, Head, Department of Computer Science, and co-ordinated by Mrs. Ashmeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, proved to be highly successful. It equipped the students with valuable guidance for their project preparation and offered highly useful tips for their future career paths. The event provided them with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their final year projects and beyond.

Goshti: Cultivating Intellectual Growth (December 19, 2024)

A Goshti session on December 19, 2024, at Lafani featured reviews of two inspiring books: Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday, which explores the destructive nature of ego, and Life’s Amazing Secrets by Gaur Gopal Das, offering timeless wisdom for purposeful living. Business Accounting Talent Search Examination (BATSE): Inspiring Academic Excellence (December 22, 2024)

On December 22, 2024, SSSS College, in partnership with SSSS College of Commerce and Allied Studies, conducted BATSE in online mode. The examination, which assessed business and accounting aptitude, saw participation from 398 students from PSEB, ICSE, and CBSE schools. Results highlighted remarkable talent, with over 10 students scoring above 95%. The initiative inspired young learners to build a strong foundation for careers in commerce and management. Project Warmth 2024: Nurturing Social Responsibility (December 24, 2024)

The Rotaract Club of SSSS College, under the initiative “Service to Others,” organized Project Warmth. Around 200 pieces of winter clothing, contributed by faculty, staff, and students, were sorted and distributed to nearly 80 individuals in need. This act of compassion reflected the college’s commitment to nurturing empathy and social responsibility among students. SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, organized three morning assemblies in Rose Villa Hall, led by the Commerce, Economics, and Computer Departments. Each assembly began with the Mool Mantra, College Anthem, and Ardas, fostering a spiritual and united ambiance. The sessions emphasized sharing experiences, lessons from winter vacations, and reflections on personal and academic growth.

Commerce Department (January 9-10, 2025):

On January 9, Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur paid tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India, drawing inspiration from the book Strictly Personal: Manmohan and Gursharan by Dr. Daman Singh. She highlighted his humility, dedication, and the teacher-student bond’s profound impact on shaping lives. Students Bhawna, Ritika, and Sanya (B.Com VI) shared stories on human connections and spiritual growth. Faculty members Mrs. Priyanka Sharma and Mrs. Vijay Laxmi shared insights on Nobel laureate Yoshinori Ohsumi’s work on autophagy and the importance of authenticity for personal well-being.

On January 10, Dr. Payal reflected on her visit to Harike Bird Sanctuary, emphasizing its serene beauty, while Mrs. Saranpreet Kaur shared her spiritual experiences during prayer. Students Isha, Lucky (B.Com II A), Kriti, Ruhani Nanda, and Tarundeep Kaur (B.Com II B) narrated enriching learning experiences from their travel and nature explorations.

Economics and Computer Departments (January 15, 2025):

On January 15, Mrs. Kiranjit Kaur shared her spiritual journey to Hazoor Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra, while Mrs. Natasha discussed lessons on hope and promises from Positive Thinking. Students Mehak Parveen, Ekjot Kaur (BCA IV), Vanshika, Prabhjeet Kaur, Ridhima (BCA II), Aishpreet Kaur, Manpreet Kaur (B.Sc VI), and Ruby (B.Sc II) inspired peers with reflections on their goals and successes.

The NSS Unit of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, celebrated National Youth Day on January 16, 2025, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur. The event began with the recitation of the college anthem, followed by a documentary on the life of Swami Vivekananda Ji. A seminar on “Emotional and Psychological Well-Being of Students in the Present Era” was organized on January 17, 2025, at SSSS College of Commerce for Women. Ms. Nisha Nanda, an RCI-licensed clinical psychologist, engaged students with real-life examples, highlighting the importance of self-love, seeking help, and open communication to build emotional resilience. Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur appreciated Ms. Nanda’s sensitivity and awareness toward emotional challenges. Coordinators: Dr. Samriti Kapoor and Dr. Tina Vohra.

Workshop on Personal grooming ‘Style Savvy’ (January 18, 2025)

On January 18, 2025, the college hosted a workshop on personal grooming titled “Style Savvy,” featuring experts from Lakme Beauty Salon, Ranjit Avenue. The session included a makeup and hairstyling demonstration, emphasizing skin types, face shapes, and professional corporate looks. Students engaged in a Q&A session, gaining practical insights for their grooming routines. Pamphlets and promotional materials were distributed by the Lakme team.

BATSE Award Ceremony (January 18, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar in collaboration with SSSS College of Commerce and Allied Studies, Amritsar organized 4th award ceremony of Business Accounting Talent Search Examination on January 18, 2025 to honour 262 students securing over 70% marks. Prizes, including mementos and certificates, were presented to these students from 23 city schools, affiliated with PSEB, ICSE, and CBSE boards, who qualified the online exam conducted on December 22, 2024. 

Principal, Mrs. Savita Khanna welcomed the Chief Guest of the day Dr. Kuwar Vijay Partap Singh Ji, IPS (Retd.) the Chief Guest, MLA Amritsar North. Talking to the audience about character, creaditibility and performance, the keypoints of good governance, Dr. Kunwar inspired the students to make efforts to continue learning and perform the duties with responsibility and dedication. Token of gratitude was presented to the Chief Guest.

Talking about the Project -BATSE, Hony. Sec. S. Jagdish Singh ji congratulated the students for showing excellent performance in the said exam.

The cultural team Niralam of the College presented the vibrant cultural program, comprising fusion of traditional and modern music, Sufi song, Punjabi traditional folk songs and dances like Gidha and Bhangra.

The teachers of the participating schools were also honoured during this occasion for their unconditional support.

While extending the vote of thanks Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur congratulated the students for their performance. She talked about the vision, abilities and dedication that are vital for the outstanding performance.

Charcha: National Voter’s Day (January 25, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, observed National Voter’s Day on January 25, 2025, with a special Charcha session aimed at promoting voter awareness. The session featured a dynamic panel of students, including Vanshika and Nikhar (B.Com F.S VI), Priyanka (B.Com F.S IV), and Manpreet, Aishpreet, and Pragya (B.Sc VI), who engaged in a lively discussion encouraging their peers to vote. They explored key topics such as the online portal for checking candidate details, the NOTA option, and the significance of every individual vote.

Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of voting by sharing an inspiring story. The event concluded with an oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to vote with honesty and integrity in every election. The session was coordinated by Mrs. Ravneet Arora, Ms. Manpreet Kaur and Mrs. Saranpreet Kaur.

Additionally, to commemorate the day, drawing and essay writing contests were held based on this year’s theme: “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure.”

Goshti Session was held on January 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Lafani. Ms. Deepika Khanna reviewed the book “The Archer” by Paulo Coelho. The book uses archery as a metaphor for life. It follows the journey of boy who seeks out Tetsuya, a legendary archer, to learn the art. Through their interaction, Tetsuya imparts profound wisdom on finding one’s purpose, overcoming fear, trusting intuition, and living in present movement.

Ms. Ramandeep Kaur reviewed the Punjabi Novel “Talash Jari Hai” by Malook Chand Kaler. The main purpose of the novel is to search for the true reality of human life and ultimate purpose of life. The search for life society and culture never ends but the process itself brings man to his true identity and meaning of existence.

The session was rewarding experience that encouraged faculty members to engage in thoughtful discussions.

Career Counseling Session (January 29, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women organized a Career Counseling session for the 12th grade students at Govt. Girls Sen. Sec. School, Verka. The purpose of the event was to give students guidance and knowledge so they could make well-informed choices on their future academic and professional pathways. The session was conducted by Mrs. Priyanka Sharma and Mrs. Ashmeet Kaur. The following topics were covered:

  • Career options
  • Higher education pathways
  • Emerging trends

The students positively appreciated the career counselling session. They considered the information given to be useful and beneficial for making career choices. The students engaged actively in the session.

Career Counseling Session (January 31, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women organized “A Career Counselling Session” on January 31, 2025. This program was carried out for 10+2 Commerce students in which their parents were also present. Mrs. Saranpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor in Commerce gave an elaborative introduction about the various courses available, opportunities and scope in the field of commerce after 10+2 Commerce. Ravneet Kaur,Assistant Professor in Economics provides fruitful insights about career options in Economicssuch as Data Analytics, Actuary and Academics, etc by pursuing B.Sc. Economics. Furthermore, Mrs. Isha Arora, Assistant Professor in Computers imparted expert guidance regarding computer courses available in our college. At the end of the session, the students cleared their doubts by asking varous questions. The program ended with a powerful vote of thanks by Dr. Payal, Assistant Professor in Commerce. It was a very informative day for the students and faculty members who attended the session.  

Charcha Session on “Generation Gap” (February 01, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, conducted a Charcha Session on “Generation Gap” on February 1, 2025, in the Rose Villa for the second year students. The session commenced with the SSSS Anthem recitation. A panel of six students from different semesters, including Nikhar and Vanshika from B.Com. FS VI, Priyanka from B.Com FS IV, and Sonam, Nazuk, and Laxmi Maurya from B.Com. VI, led the discussion. The core theme explored was the frequent misidentification of communication breakdowns as generation gaps. The discussion emphasized the importance of building strong relationships with parents and teachers through effective communication, choosing appropriate words and expressions, and maintaining respect while conveying perspectives. Students were encouraged to recognize that many perceived generation gaps are actually communication gaps that can be bridged through open dialogue and mutual understanding. The session highlighted the significance of approaching elders with respect rather than fear and viewing generational differences positively. Through such Charcha sessions, the college continues to foster an environment that promotes open communication and understanding between different generations.The highly interactive nature of the session saw enthusiastic participation from both teachers and students, fostering meaningful dialogue.

Awareness Session on Skill Based Courses (February 10, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, organized an Awareness Session on Skill-Based Courses on February 10, 2025. The session was conducted by Mrs. Rakhi Oberoi, Co-founder, ShaktiTech Academy, and Ms. Aanchal Sarin.

Ms. Sarin introduced students to Digital Marketing courses, emphasizing their relevance in today’s competitive landscape. She also outlined the internship opportunities available upon course completion.

The session was successfully coordinated by Mrs. Isha Arora, Head, Department of Computer Science, and conducted by Mrs. Saranpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Commerce.

Session on ‘Future Tycoons of Amritsar’ (February 11, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, organized a session on Future Tycoons of Amritsar on February 11, 2025, at the College Hall, Rose Villa. The session was conducted by S. Tirathpal Singh, Deputy CEO, and Mr. Harjit Singh from the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE), Amritsar.

During the interactive session, S. Tirathpal Singh elaborated on the vision of Future Tycoons, an initiative promoted by IAS Sakshi Sawhney, Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar. He highlighted the significance of Conceiving and Transforming Business Ideas into Reality. Under this project, students will present their ideas across six categories, which will then be refined, funded, and promoted by experts and stakeholders from educational institutions, organizations, and industries.

Additionally, Mr. Harjit Singh detailed various government schemes designed to support young entrepreneurs. Students’ queries were addressed thoroughly, ensuring clarity on the project and its registration process.

Dr. Payal, Vice-Principal, emphasized the college’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial skills among students. The session was attended by students of M.Com and Semester IV of B.Com, B.Com (FS), BBA, B.Sc (Eco), and BCA, who found it insightful and informative. A token of gratitude was presented to the resource persons. The session was successfully coordinated by Dr. Payal, and Dr. Tina Vohra, Assistant Professor in Commerce.

Winter Carnival (February 14, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar hosted Winter Carnival on February 14, 2025. It was organised by Entrepreneur Cell (E-Cell) of the College. The event was filled with vibrant, joyful and entrepreneurial spirit. It brought together students, faculties and visitors for a day of cultural festivities, business exhibition and entertainment making it one of the most anticipated events of the year. Beyond the business stalls, the carnival featured a variety of fun games, nail painting, handicraft, calligraphy and photography booths ensuring something for everyone.During the inauguration, Director S. Jagdish Singh Ji appreciated the students for their creative ideas,initiative, leadership and organization skills and encouraged them for strengthening these skills. Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur cherished the students for showcasing their entrepreneur skills through business ideas. Sardarni Swarn Kaur Ji, Madam Director graced the occasion with her esteemed presence. Adding prestige to the event,Mrs. Savita Khanna, Principal of SSSS College of Commerce and Allied Studies,Mrs. Rakhi Oberoi and Ms. Menka Sharma acted as judges. The event concluded with the announcement of the winners. Booth D1, H1& H3 and N3 were selected for best Business idea, Eco-friendly and Marketing respectively. Dr.Payal and Mrs. Monica Chhabra coordinated the event successfully.

With these initiatives, the club continues to grow, give back and tries to make a difference to the society.

Nourishing Hearts: Food Drive by The Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women (February 14, 2025)

When kindness is the recipe and compassion is the main ingredient, the result is a meal that feeds more than just hunger—it feeds the soul.

The Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women turned this thought into action through a Food Drive. The passionate Rotaractors donated dhoklas and lahori jeera to the needy on the streets near Shivala Bhaiyan Mandir, carrying not just plates of freshly prepared dhoklas, but also bundles of warmth, hope, and humanity.

This drive was more than distributing food; it was about the belief that “No one should go to sleep hungry” and “Service is the purest form of joy.”

Nukkad Natak, Vengi – The Education, at its Open-Air Theatre (February 17, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, hosted a Nukkad Natak, Vengi – The Education, at its Open-Air Theatre on February 17, 2025. Presented by ‘Red Art Group’ from Department of Theatre, Punjabi University Patiala under the ‘Let’s Ask Punjab’ Project, the play, scripted by Mr. Jagdeep, explored challenges in the education system, social perception thereof, assessment policies and their impact. It emphasized the collective role of teachers, students, and parents in ensuring quality, skill-oriented education. The performance aimed to inspire students to respect education and teachers while encouraging them to engage in meaningful learning. Director S.Jagdish Singh ji and Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur in their address thanked the members of group for this awareness campaign.

25th International Mother Language Day (February 21, 2025)

Sant Singh Sukha Singh College of Commerce for Women Celebrates 25th International Mother Language Day with Enthusiasm

Sant Singh Sukha Singh College of Commerce for Women celebrated the 25th International Mother Language Day, as observed by UNESCO, with great enthusiasm and commitment to linguistic pride. The event witnessed the active participation of around 150 students, who expressed their thoughts through heartfelt poems and speeches on the significance of their mother tongue, Punjabi.

During their presentations, students shed light on how Punjabi is gradually being overshadowed by other languages in today’s world. While recognizing the value of learning multiple languages, they passionately emphasized the need to preserve and promote their native language. The college remains steadfast in its commitment to giving Punjabi the respect it deserves, inspiring students to take pride in its rich history and cultural legacy.

Addressing the gathering, College Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur highlighted the integral role of the mother tongue in shaping cultural identity. She encouraged students to actively communicate in Punjabi and cherish its heritage. Citing research findings, Dr. Navdeep Kaur further urged students to encapsulate their learnings from various lectures in their mother tongue for mental revision, as it enhances understanding and facilitates easy recall. Faculty members also joined in to support the initiative, reinforcing the importance of linguistic diversity and the preservation of one’s roots.

By celebrating this significant day, the college reaffirmed its dedication to upholding the beauty and legacy of Punjabi, instilling a sense of pride and responsibility among students to carry it forward for future generations.

“Promote Peace, Heal Bonds!” : A Charcha Session (February 22, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, arranged an inspiring Charcha Session on “Promote Peace, Heal Bonds!”for first-year students on February 22, 2025. The session began with the SSSS anthem and featured profound insight from students as well as teachers.

The dynamic panel of 6 student representatives-Nikhar and Vanshika from B.Com. FS VI, Priyanka from B.Com FS IV, and Sonam, Nazuk, and Laxmi Maurya from B.Com. VI led the discussion covering various aspects, including:

  • Reasons for suffering and the loss of peace of mind
  • Ways to cultivate pleasure, calmness and happiness
  • How to overcome ego and nurture meaningful relationships
  • Strategies to heal the connections
  • Listening and responding properly
  • Cultivating mutual respect while expressing differing viewpoints

The break-out session was expertly coordinated by Dr. Tina Vohra and Mrs. Natasha Mahajan. The thought-provoking session aimed to facilitate holistic development of students.

Amritsar, February 24, 2025 – SSSS College of Commerce for Women successfully hosted Career Conclave 2025, an event aimed at equipping students with industry insights, career guidance, and skill-building opportunities.

In her welcome address, Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal, highlighted the relevance of career orientation, internships, and competitive exams, emphasizing the need for students to focus on skill development alongside their academic studies.

Career Launcher experts trained students for CAT, XAT, and SNAP exams, while Mr. Sushil (Times GM Institute) conducted an aptitude assessment to help students map their career strengths.

Milk distribution drive by Rotaract Club of S.S.S.S.College Shivratri (February 25, 2025)

On February 26, 2025, SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, observed MahaShivratri with reverence and gratitude. To mark this sacred occasion, volunteers from the Rotaract Club distributed 201 packets of milk to those in need. This noble act not only honored the traditional belief that offering milk to Lord Shiva brings health and prosperity but also reflected the spirit of empathy and community service that defines our institution.

This initiative exemplifies the college’s inclusive culture, where diversity is embraced, and respect for all faiths is woven into the fabric of everyday practice.

Bhog of Sehaj Path (March 01, 2025)

March 1, 2025 – Sant Singh Sukha Singh College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar solemnly observed the Sehaj Path Bhog of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, bringing together faculty and students in a spirit of devotion and reflection.The event featured soulful Kirtan and concluded with a heartfelt Ardas for universal well-being. To honor their dedication, students and teachers who participated in the Sehaj Pathwere recognized and awarded for their commitment to Guru Sahib’s teachings.As a mark of encouragement, outstanding participants were honored with the SGPC Gurmat Gyan Prizes, underscoring the importance of spiritual learning and Sikh values in academic life. Speaking on the occasion, Director S. Jagdish Singh ji highlighted how such spiritual gatherings instill moral values and inner peace among students. Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur appreciated the participants and encouraged them to follow Guru Sahib’s teachings in their daily lives. Simple Sports Day (March 6, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, Hosts Simple Sports Day (March 6, 2025) SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, successfully organized its Simple Sports Day to promote health, fitness, and teamwork among students. The event featured a variety of fun and engaging sports activities, including a one-leg race, skipping race, carry-the-ball challenge, sack race, three-leg race, boxing, obstacle race, and tug-of-war. Both students and teachers participated enthusiastically, demonstrating great sportsmanship and teamwork. The Honourable Director congratulated the winners and encouraged all participants, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle and consistent effort. He reminded everyone that "hard work has no substitute." Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal, appreciated the dedication and true sportsman spirit displayed by all participants. She highlighted that many winners also excel academically and maintain regular attendance, breaking the stereotype that sportspersons are irregular in studies. She extended her best wishes to all for their future endeavors. The event concluded with the recitation of the National Anthem, marking another milestone in the college’s commitment to holistic student development. Report on Techie Fizz 2025 organized by Hindu College, Amritsar (March 7, 2025)

The students of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, participated in the Techie-Fizz, 2025 organized by Hindu College and showcased exceptional talent across various competitions. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from multiple colleges, fostering creativity and competitive spirit.

Our students made the college proud by securing top positions in several events. They secured second and third place in the singing competition, demonstrating outstanding vocal skills and stage presence. In collage making, they achieved second place, showcasing remarkable creativity and artistic expression. The Ad-Mad Show team earned third place, impressing the audience with their witty and engaging advertisement performance. The dance team secured first place, delivering a mesmerizing and well-coordinated performance that captivated the judges.

These achievements reflect the dedication, teamwork, and artistic excellence of our students. Their hard work and enthusiasm were truly commendable, bringing laurels to the college. This success at Techie-Fizz has further inspired our students to continue excelling in co-curricular activities, setting a benchmark for future competitions.

The students of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar participated in ‘Inno-Science’, an event organised by DAV College, Amritsar.

Nazuk from B.Com Semester VI participated in poster making competition. Harshita Arora, Muskan Kali, Harnoor Kaur and Akanksha from BBA Semester IV participated in power-point presention competition on the topic ‘Viksit Bharat’.                

Digital Masterclass on AI Tools at SSSS College of Commerce for Women (March 08, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, in collaboration with Shaktitech Academy, organized a Digital Masterclass on AI Tools to equip participants with a practical understanding of AI-driven technologies. The workshop covered the functionalities, applications, and impact of AI tools across industries, enabling attendees to integrate these innovations into their professional domains.

Through live demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and expert insights, participants explored AI-powered text generation, image/logo creation, PowerPoint design, and flowchart development. The session provided valuable skills to leverage AI for enhanced productivity and creativity.

Ms. Anchal’s expertise and engaging presentation played a key role in the workshop’s success, emphasizing the importance of staying updated with technological advancements.

The workshop was coordinated by Mrs. Isha Arora, Head, Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with Mrs Rakhi Oberoi Director HR Shakti powertronicsa and Co-founder Shakti tech Amritsar.

International Women’s Day 2025 Celebration (March 12, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar celebrated Women’s Day on March12, 2025.

On this occasion Rotaractors and N.S.S. volunteers organized a Special Interactive Session. The resource person Mrs Rakhi Oberoi, General Secretary Sankalp welfare society, talked about the power of women in the world.

 A quiz regarding the contribution of women in varied field was also held.

The event featured videos showcasing real-life success stories of women in various fields, such as architecture, baking, business, and dermatology, delivering a powerful message:

Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur while honouring Mrs Rakhi and her team members, appreciated their incredible work in the field of Social Service and said that the college will be looking forward to the collaboration between the Rotaract Club of the College and Sankalp welfare society.
