SSSS College of Commerce for Women organized a two days Book- Bank Fair under the project ‘Saugaat’. Students of the college were given an opportunity to take the books free of the cost. Approximately 573 books from various disciplines viz Commerce, Economics, Management, Computer Science, Literature (English and Punjabi), Religion, Spirituality and Competitive Examinations were given away to the students in book fair. To consolidate the tenet of ‘sharing with others’, the students were invited to come up with any book and take away any book of their choice in return from the Book Bank. 800 students and the staff members participated in this fair and exchanged books.

Dr. Samriti Kapoor, Asst. Prof. in Commerce & Ms. Sirjan Kaur, student from B.Com Sem-III were declared donors of the day from faculty and students respectively for contributing maximum number of books. Ms. Harshita received special recognition for gifting a rare book on legendary Bhagat Puran Singh. Ms. Vaishali received appreciation for a book on latest in General Knowledge.

The fair was inaugurated by S. Jagdish Singh, Hony. Secy. He highlighted the valuable books available in the fair and spoke at length about a renowned Punjabi scholar Sardar Kapoor Singh. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal informed that this is a regular event of the College and the facility is extended to students to take any book from this joint pool all year round. The enthusiasm amongst the students was clearly visible in this Book Fair. Mrs. Simranjeet Kaur (Librarian) and Mrs. Monica Chhabra (Asst. Prof. in Commerce) jointly coordinated the event successfully.
