“Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with a Heartwarming Initiative” (August 10, 2024)

On August 10, 2024, the Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, celebrated Raksha Bandhan under the project “Ek Bandhan “. This thoughtful initiative aimed to send physical rakhis to brave Indian Army personnel as a token of love, respect, and appreciation.

By sending rakhis to soldiers, the club strengthened the bond between civilians and the armed forces, providing a tangible reminder of the support they receive from home. During the celebration, college students were encouraged to bring rakhis for the soldiers, accompanied by handwritten notes of encouragement.

This meaningful gesture fosters a sense of connection, boosts morale, and demonstrates the community’s commitment to those who serve in challenging conditions. The Rotaract Club’s initiative embodies the true spirit of Raksha Bandhan, celebrating the selfless service of Indian Army personnel.

“Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women Enhances Knowledge on Cyber Security”(August 28, 2024)

On August 28th, 2024, the members of the Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women attended a insightful webinar on the crucial topic of “Cyber Security”. The session featured a special speaker, Mr. Hritik Mishra, Operational Director at Cyber Ambassador, Nashik, Maharashta, who shared his expertise on:

  • Understanding Cyber Threats
  • Building Strong Defences
  • Data Protection & Privacy
  • Safeguarding Against Fraud 

This informative webinar equipped the club members with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely and securely. The session was a valuable opportunity for the members to learn from an expert and stay updated on the latest cyber security trends and best practices.

Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club (September 12, 2024)

The fourth Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar was held in the College Hall Rose Villa on September 12, 2024, marking a significant milestone in community service and youth engagement. The event was attended by esteemed guests, Rotarians who gathered to witness the formal induction of the club’s new officers and members.

The ceremony began with the singing of the National Anthem.

DRR. Rtr. Sukhpinder Kaur was the Chief Guest, Rtn. Rakesh Kapoor, Chairman Club and Chief District Coordinator 3070, Rtr. Deepanshu, Rtr. Sawan Arora, Rtr. Jaskiran Kaur, Rtn. Ravi Pathania, Rtn. Amandeep Singh President Rotary Club Amritsar Central was also present on the occasion.

Samistha Mahajan, Student of B.Com Sem III was appointed as Student President and accorded collar. Nazuk Sharma, Student of B.Com Sem V, was appointed as the Student Secretary, Rtr. Diksha, Student of BBA Sem III, was appointed as President Elect, and other office bearers received pins indicating their respective positions in the club. Certificates were presented to the previous year members of the Rotaract club.Mrs. Priyanka Sharma, Head, Dept. of Commerce and Mrs. Shalini, Lecturer in Economics was specially honoured for their contribution to education.

The Chief Guest congratulated the Rotaractors and highlighted the importance of Collaboration, Innovation and Perseverance in driving meaningful changes. The new President pledged her commitment to the values of Rotary International, set the stage for an active and impactful year ahead.

Director S. Jagdish Singh Ji and Principal Dr. Navdeep kaur appreciated IPP. Karwal Muskan Kaur and her team and motivated newly installed team for their future goals.

Rotary Club of Amritsar Central’s Water Management Project (September 28, 2024)

The Rotary Club of Amritsar Central under its Water Management Project donated a Water Tank to SSSS College of Commerce for Women on September 28, 2024.

Members from the Rotary Club of Amritsar Central including Rtn. Rakesh Kapoor, Rtn. Pawan Kapoor, Rtn. Parveen Mehra, and Rtn. Ravmeet Aneja joined for the event. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Principal, SSSS College of Commerce for Women, along with members of the Rotaract Club and staff, were also present on the occasion.

Project Warmth 2024: Nurturing Social Responsibility (December 24, 2024)

The Rotaract Club of SSSS College, under the initiative “Service to Others,” organized Project Warmth. Around 200 pieces of winter clothing, contributed by faculty, staff, and students, were sorted and distributed to nearly 80 individuals in need. This act of compassion reflected the college’s commitment to nurturing empathy and social responsibility among students. The project was led by Dr. Tina Vohra, Mrs. Natasha Mahajan, and the Rotaract team, with support from the Principal, Dr. Navdeep Kaur, who commended their dedication to spreading warmth and kindness.

The members of the club showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit by setting up three amazing stalls that were loved by everyone.The money earned was given away as donation.

  1. We Share, We Care Box was another initiative encouraging contributions from students towards helping those in need. The response was overwhelming.

With these initiatives, the club continues to grow, give back and tries to make a difference to the society.

Nourishing Hearts: Food Drive by The Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women (February 14, 2025)

When kindness is the recipe and compassion is the main ingredient, the result is a meal that feeds more than just hunger—it feeds the soul.

The Rotaract Club of SSSS College of Commerce for Women turned this thought into action through a Food Drive. The passionate Rotaractors donated dhoklas and lahori jeera to the needy on the streets near Shivala Bhaiyan Mandir, carrying not just plates of freshly prepared dhoklas, but also bundles of warmth, hope, and humanity.

This drive was more than distributing food; it was about the belief that “No one should go to sleep hungry” and “Service is the purest form of joy.”

Milk distribution drive by Rotaract Club of S.S.S.S.College Shivratri (February 25, 2025)

On February 26, 2025, SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar, observed MahaShivratri with reverence and gratitude. To mark this sacred occasion, volunteers from the Rotaract Club distributed 201 packets of milk to those in need. This noble act not only honored the traditional belief that offering milk to Lord Shiva brings health and prosperity but also reflected the spirit of empathy and community service that defines our institution.

This initiative exemplifies the college’s inclusive culture, where diversity is embraced, and respect for all faiths is woven into the fabric of everyday practice.

International Women’s Day 2025 Celebration (March 12, 2025)

SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar celebrated Women’s Day on March12, 2025.

On this occasion Rotaractors and N.S.S. volunteers organized a Special Interactive Session. The resource person Mrs Rakhi Oberoi, General Secretary Sankalp welfare society, talked about the power of women in the world.

 A quiz regarding the contribution of women in varied field was also held.

The event featured videos showcasing real-life success stories of women in various fields, such as architecture, baking, business, and dermatology, delivering a powerful message:

Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur while honouring Mrs Rakhi and her team members, appreciated their incredible work in the field of Social Service and said that the college will be looking forward to the collaboration between the Rotaract Club of the College and Sankalp welfare society.
